MANILA, Philippines–Petro Gazz extended its winning streak to three in the PVL All-Filipino Conference after a 12-25, 25-14, 25-22, 25-20 triumph over PLDT on Tuesday at PhilSports Arena.
The trio of Brooke van Sickle, Myla Pablo and Jonah Sabete propelled the Angels to their fourth in five games.

“Sobrang tagal na namin kalaban yung PLDT so parang kahit papaano medyo gamay na din kasi you know din naman sa coaching staff nila,” Sabete, a natural open hitter, said after dropping 17 points as she took the place of veteran opposite hitter Aiza Maizo-Pontillas.

“Hindi din talaga sila papatalo sa defense. Naisip ko lang na papaluin ko lang to babasahin ko lang yung blockers. Buti naman kahit papano naging ok yung performance,” she added.

Van Sickle topscored Petro Gazz with 21 points built around 18 kills, two blocks and an ace apart from 12 excellent digs.
Pablo continued to be a force for the Angels and poured in 19 points from 17 attacks and two blocks.

Djanel Cheng also made it happen for Petro Gazz, dishing out 18 excellent sets.
The High Speed Hitters dropped to a 3-2 record after a second consecutive loss despite Savi Davison’s game-high 28 points built on 26 hits. She also had 12 excellent receptions and nine excellent digs.
Petro Gazz looks to continue its winning ways against undefeated Cignal on Saturday for its final game of the year. PLDT, meanwhile, won’t be back until a clash with Akaro on January 18.
