The Patriots waived QB Matt Corral from the exempt/left squad list and released QB Ian Book from their practice squad, per sources.
The Patriots still have quarterbacks Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe on their 53-man roster. Quarterback/wide receiver Malik Cunningham remains on the practice squad.
Corral was claimed off waivers from the Panthers late last month. He was placed on the exempt/left squad list after he left the team without notice. The Patriots signed Zappe to their 53-man roster when they placed Corral on the exempt list.
Book, a Notre Dame product who was a 2021 fourth-round pick by the Saints, was signed to the practice squad last week.
The Patriots could use another practice arm with Corral and Book off of the roster.
