NRL news 2024 | Adam Reynolds, Patrick Carrigan fight; 9news exclusive interview, Integrity Unit investigation

Brisbane Broncos captain Adam Reynolds has revealed the conversations he had to have with his family after footage emerged of his involvement in a scuffle with teammate Pat Carrigan.

Video of the two Broncos stars wrestling aggressively with each other circulated on social media on Monday, leaving the club to explain what had happened three weeks out from the season opener.

Speaking to 9News Queensland, Reynolds explained he had to have a tough chat with his children over the video.

“I’ve got four kids at home that unfortunately get to see Dad in a bit of a scuffle, it’s embarrassing,” he said.

“… I sat them down, explained the situation, explained that it’s going to be on the news.”

The NRL Integrity Unit is investigating the incident, however Broncos coach Kevin Walters confirmed the club would not be suspending the duo.

Controversy comes for the Broncos as they prepare to play the Sydney Roosters at Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas, on March 3.

Reynolds admits he’s accepted there’s a chance he and Carrigan could be out for the blockbuster fixture.

“We’re fully aware of what we did on the weekend and we’re taking full ownership of that,” he said.

“If that means we miss Vegas then we miss Vegas. It’s in the integrity Unit’s hands now and whatever decision they come up with, we’ll support.”
