Manuel Ruiz de Lopera, former president of Betis, dies

The former president of Real Betis Manuel Ruiz de Lopera has died at the age of 79 in the early hours of this Saturday due to diverticulitis, as reported by the family of the former Verdiblanco leader.

After midnight from this Saturday to Sunday, a nephew of the former Betic president confirmed the unfortunate news, which came after several weeks in which Lopera’s health was very delicate.

Already on January 5, Lopera was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the HLA Santa Isabel Clinic, suffering from diverticulitis. Despite his subsequent recovery, two and a half months later Lopera finally died in his house on Jabugo Street in Seville.

Lopera had had this ailment for years. In fact, in 2017 she went to the Virgen de Fátima Hospital for an intestinal obstruction and 50 centimeters of intestine were removedwhich is why they had to suspend one of their pending trials with Real Betis.
