“I’ve given up alcohol, completely, and I’m fast as lightning”

The Anthill concluded the week with the 16th visit of Dani Martin to the program from Antena 3. The singer introduced him to Pablo Motos his new album, The last day of our liveswhich will be released on November 29.

The artist returns with new songs and a new tour for 2026after having sold out the ten concerts it plans to offer at the Wizink Center in Madrid next year.

“I think that having stopped for a while, having been searching within myself, has taken me to a very interesting place. In this album is my fear of commitmentwhich I have been working with my psychiatrist for years and I think I can say that I have already overcome it,” he explained.

“I’ve given up alcohol, completely, and I’m fast as lightning”

“There is also self-criticism, there is forgiveness and There is disappointment with the situation of music prostitution that we are experiencingin which songs are produced like churros, without any respect… There is a lot of rock & roll, I think it is the most powerful album of my solo career and I am very proud,” he added.

The presenter asked him: “What is the song you like the most?” The guest replied that it was Carpe Diem. “I also think it’s the best song I’ve ever made.”admitted the artist.

“It talks about regret, of not having given everything for a relationship that deserved it. It talks about when you realize that you have made a big mistake.“he assured.

The Valencian also wanted to know the artist’s opinion on reggaeton: “I love it, but reggaeton done well. I like things that come from the gut, that are real. I’m having a hard time seeing the people of Soria doing reggaeton“I honestly don’t understand it,” he responded.

After talking about music, Motos wanted to discuss his physical change with the Madrid native: “You’ve lost a lot of weight, haven’t you?”. Martín answered: “Yes, more than 30 kilos.”

“I also have to say one thing, The tour in which I have sold the most tickets in my life was the previous one, in which I was fat like Miki Ballena, that means that what interests my audience are the songs, not how fat or skinny I am,” he commented.

And he added that “it is true that as you get older and you see that you don’t have that much time left to live, you start to take care of yourself more. I’ve given up alcohol, completely, and I’m fast as lightning“.

“I was not into drinks, but I was into wine, I drank a lot of wine, I am a person who has no end“, with love, with music, with everything…”, confessed the singer.

To conclude the interview, the host of the program noted: “You have made a short film to announce your new album based on the harassment you suffered from the press when you decided to make a pattern in your career“.

“Yeah, It took me two years to do it, it was in cold blood. At the time I posted a tweet expressing how small and bad I felt and headlines began to appear saying that I was leaving the tour due to health problems, that I was abandoning music. I took all that and thought, when I come back I’m going to use it in a video,” said Martín.

Motos highlighted that one of the relationships that the artist had in his past “you were both very famous, you say it broke up because of the press, right?”, he noted.

“Well, it became such a tense situation that we couldn’t live, we couldn’t go out, eighteen cars followed us everywhere. We suffered a lot, we were young, we loved each other a lot, but we couldn’t be free. There are more screwed up things in life, it’s clear that I’m lucky, but that was a big bitchthe truth,” he admitted.
