The Minister for Digital Transformation, Óscar Lópezpresented his candidacy this Thursday to lead the PSOE-M. The socialist leader has stressed on several occasions that his “step forward” is a “strictly personal” decision, but that at the same time he understands it as a “collective cause” and a “public service” because his objective is to confront the PP. and Isabel Díaz Ayuso, against whom she has harshly criticized, to achieve “change in Madrid in 2027.”
“It is the brave left that wins”López has remarked as a declaration of intentions from the socialist group in the central district of the capital, where he has presented his candidacy supported by some socialist leaders. Among others, Reyes Maroto, spokesperson for the PSOE in the capital’s City Hall, has been seen; Mercedes González, general director of the Civil Guard; Candelaria Testa, mayor of Alcorcón; and Javier Rodríguez Palacios and Natalia de Andrés, former mayors of Alcalá de Henares and Alcorcón, respectively.
