The director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossiassured this Wednesday that Iran has agreed to stop uranium enrichment to 60%close to the level of military use, and has already taken “initial technical steps” in that direction.
“I asked the Islamic Republic of Iran to exercise restraint. Not only that, but also, if possible, to stop increasing its stockpile of 60% enriched uranium. I must say that my application was accepted“said Grossi in his speech to the IAEA Board of Governors.
The IAEA Director General has mentioned that this request was addressed during his trip to Tehran last weekwhen he met with the new president of Iran, Masud Pezeshkian and the Foreign Minister, Abbas AraqchÃ.
