Filling up the car tank is once again more expensive in Spain after the fuel price has maintained its upward trend in the last seven days, thus chaining its third consecutive week of increases, which means that it is at maximums since September.

How much does it cost to fill the car tank
At current prices, filling an average 55-litre tank of diesel costs around 78.1 euros, about 8.63 euros less than on the same dates last year, when it amounted to about 86.73 euros. For gasoline vehicles, filling an average tank (55 liters) currently represents an outlay of about 83.05 euros, around 4.95 euros less than in the same week of October 2023, at which time the price was 88 euros.
Until mid of last October, fuels had reached a reduction of 8.9%, in the case of gasoline, and 9.2%, for diesel, since they began a spiral of declines in July of this year, coinciding with certain dates due to the summer holiday period and when there is usually the most road travel throughout the year.
Gasoline increases since the beginning of the year

The price of fuel depends on multiple factors, such as its specific price (independent of that of oil), the evolution of crude oil, taxes, the cost of raw materials and logistics, and gross margins. Furthermore, the evolution in the price of crude oil is not directly transferred to fuel prices, but rather does so with a time lag.
