Andorra la VellaThe vice-president of the Association of Real Estate Owners of Andorra, Artur Homs, has generated controversy with statements published on Twitter, where he has expressed a strong stance on religious freedom and immigration.
In a message men stated: “When in Islamic countries there is religious freedom and Christian temples, we should grant the same freedoms. Meanwhile, NO TO ISLAM” and “re-emigration of all the extremists and people who walk around our streets dirty and do not respect our traditions” declares Homs, “we are Christians” he concludes.
It is not the first time that Homs has made statements along these lines. Homs assured last August on Twitter that he does not want “neither Islam nor Islamists in Andorra”.
This time, he has also used his Twitter account to attack the media, as is the case with La Vanguardia and OkDiario, whom he accuses of misinforming and publishing misleading headlines.
Homs praised OkDiario for its transparency in a recent headline about an incident in Germany, stating that the medium was one of the few to specify that the person involved is “Arab”, something that Homs considers essential to provide a clear view of the facts.
In contrast, he criticized The Vanguardwhom he accused of misinforming and of publishing headlines that whitewash the crimes, by not specifying the nationality of those involved.
Homs considers that Vanguardia tries to hide relevant information to protect certain groups and, thus, misinform its audience.
