A northern man California missing since 1999 was found in a Los Angeles hospital, after his sister saw an article in the newspaper USA Today asking for help to identify him.
The Lassen County Sheriff’s Office reported that the woman came forward with the newspaper clipping published in May saying that sought to identify a hospitalized patient in Los Angeles County, who could not speak or communicate his name.
The patient had been admitted on April 15, but was transferred to another center in July. Finally the Los Angeles Police managed to locate the patient and corroborate his identity after matching their fingerprints.
The man had missing for 25 years in DoyleCalifornia, a city bordering the state of Nevada. He apparently stopped communicating with his family and friends. voluntarily.
The sister would have noticed the article after a family friend showed it to her because the photograph caught his attention of the patient, as reported by the newspaper in a follow-up article. It is expected that in the coming weeks the woman will be able to reunite with her brother, who remains hospitalized.
For his part, Captain Mike Carney, of the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office, stated that the sister “I was very grateful” that they took the time to follow up. “It’s going to make your Thanksgiving so much better,” the officer added.
