The catastrophic passage of the DANA through the Valencian Community has dominated the news in recent days and this Wednesday, after days of harsh images in the Valencian streets, the friendliest face of sport is back in the first event hosted in the region after the tragedy: the qualifying duel for the European handball championship between Spain and Italy.
The Puerto de Sagunto Pavilion received the match with a heartfelt tribute from the two teams, who posed in a historic image with a banner with the following message: “Handball always with yous”.
At the same time, the stands displayed a large flag of the Valencian Community with the motto “We are all Valencia”which he sang while the region’s anthem resonated on the dance floor.
The first day of the Qualifiers Phase 2 was the ‘excuse’ to provide, with sport, a ray of hope to Valencian society.
