This statement occurs in a context of growing criticism to the Government’s communication campaign, which has allocated more than one million euros to inform about the agreement.
Casal explained that, as soon as the verdict of the European Councilrelevant information will be made public. He remarked that, in a democracy, it is good that there is diversity of opinions and that the different parties organize themselves to present their ideas.
The Secretary of State for Relations with the EU, Landry Ribahas also confirmed that the member states received the text at the end of April and that their legal analysis is in process. Riba has indicated that in the coming weeks a final diagnosis is expected that will determine whether the agreement will require the approval of the European national parliaments.
