Every Current WWE Faction, Ranked From Worst To Best

Factions are a staple of professional wrestling. It’s an opportunity for multiple wrestlers to join forces as a unit and accomplish more together. In various promotions across the world, one will be hard-pressed to find a shortage of factions running around and carving out their own unique space.

A stable’s goal is to elevate several wrestlers. While some of these wrestlers might’ve been over at one point, they weren’t over while in the group.

WWE is known for many legendary factions such as Evolution, The Shield, D-Generation X, and the Nation of Domination, just to name a few. In years past, the company has been criticized for a lack of attention to factions. Since Triple H’s rise to creative power, the focus on factions has increased, with some being better than others.

UPDATE: 2024/02/12 20:00 EST BY TEVON KING

Factions are designed to elevate everyone in a group. The leader will set their expectations in the group by wanting to gain control of championships and most importantly a World Championship. Furthermore, the main roster in WWE has been stacked with factions from 2020 onwards. There have been some outstanding stables that will go down as some of the greatest in WWE history. It isn’t always plain sailing for factions as some go through dry spells without winning a championship, but patience has paid off for several factions when multiple members began to hold championships simultaneously. Not every faction stays together which is inevitable, but some of the current factions on the main roster have stamped down their authority more often than others.

While some current WWE wrestlers would be incredible leaders of factions, others wouldn’t work well in the role.

The O.C. had “Michin” Mia Yim join the group in the fall of 2022 which was a good addition to the group. The faction previously feuded with the Judgment Day and The Bloodline. Styles left the group after the O.C. failed to help him when he was assaulted by the Bloodline. It remains to be seen how much longer the O.C. will last without their leader, and they haven’t done anything noteworthy in the past few months.

The Final Testament has feuded with the Pride (Bobby Lashley and the Street Profits) on SmackDown with the Final Testament getting the slight advantage. Diamond Mine has gone through several membership changes, additions, and subtractions. From Roderick Strong’s injury to Malcolm Bivens’ departure and Damon Kemp’s betrayal, the group has not seen a wealth of consistency as a unit. However, despite that, when it comes to in-ring ability, Diamond Mine is one of the most fun groups to watch.

The Street Profits looked directionless when they were drafted to SmackDown, but they had a renewed lease of life under Bobby Lashley. The trio turned heel, and the Street Profits undertook a serious approach by wearing suits. However, all three men were popular and their heel turn was dropped after a couple of months, and they turned face once more.

The trio are called “The Pride” but on the February 3, 2024 edition of SmackDown, B-Fab became the fourth member of the group. Santos Escobar has been the leader of the group since 2020, and the original group featured Escobar, Joaquin Wilde, Cruz Del Toro, and Elektra Lopez joined the trio in 2021. There have been several changes with Zelina Vega replacing Lopez when they moved to the main roster in 2022. Mysterio won the WWE United States Championship for the third time during his time in the faction, but things turned sour when Santos Escobar cost him the title at Crown Jewel 2023 with Logan Paul dethroning him for the gold. Escobar subsequently left the group. Furthermore, Carlito returned to WWE at Fastlane 2023 as a full-time competitor and he joined the faction. The LWO is a popular stable, and they’re currently feuding with Escobar’s revamped Legado Del Fantasma on SmackDown.

Bayley

Damage CTRL was formed at SummerSlam 2022 when Bayley returned to WWE alongside Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky. Kai and Sky quickly won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship twice but Bayley was unable to get her hands on gold as she was unsuccessful in her Raw Women’s Championship matches against Bianca Belair.

Damage CTRL finally got their hands on the singles championship as Iyo Sky won the 2023 women’s Money in the Bank ladder match, and she cashed in on a weakened Bianca Belair to win the WWE Women’s Championship. Bayley won the 2024 women’s Royal Rumble match. Still, her position in the faction ended as she chose to challenge Sky for the WWE Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 40 with the founder of Damage CTRL leaving the faction without a leader.

A conversation about The Brawling Brutes can’t be had without Imperium, and vice versa. Imperium has always been a great faction focused on in-ring work, whether it was their time in NXT UK or NXT. When the faction was disbanded, wrestling fans mourned its loss, but it was quickly brought back at Clash at the Castle 2022.

Ever since their reformation, Imperium has had hard-hitting affair after affair with The Brawling Brutes. Imperium has proven its worth, showing those who never watched NXT just how valuable they are to have on any promotion’s roster.

Imperium is one of the toughest factions on the main roster. They debuted on the main roster on SmackDown in 2022, but the trio moved to Raw in the 2023 draft lottery. “The Ring General” Gunther has shown tough love to Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci, and Gunther has become the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion in WWE history at over 600 days.

Edge

Under Edge’s original leadership, The Judgment Day was a group that spent a lot of time talking, and not getting much done. They were a dark and gritty group focused on words without much character or identity. However, after Finn Bálor replaced Edge, and Dominik Mysterio joined the group, they quickly became one of the most entertaining factions in WWE.

The new version of The Judgment Day very much has its own unique identity, especially with the suggestive nature of Rhea Ripley and Dominik’s relationship. The group has led to everyone involved finding new wrinkles in their characters, making them one of the most must-see factions.

The Judgment Day’s patience paid off as all four members of the group held gold simultaneously. Rhea Ripley defeated Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 39 for the SmackDown Women’s Championship which has been renamed as the Women’s World Championship. Finn Balor and Damian Priest became two-time Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions, and Dominik Mysterio won the NXT North American Championship twice. JD McDonagh has joined the faction, and the Judgment Day has gone from strength to strength.

Roman Reigns, Jimmy Uso, Solo Sikoa, Paul Heyman

WWE Championship (Roman Reigns x1), WWE Universal Championship (Roman Reigns x1), SmackDown Tag Team Championship (The Usos x1), Raw Tag Team Championship (The Usos x1)

Jey Uso, Sami Zayn

Without a shadow of a doubt, The Bloodline is the best faction not only in WWE today, but wrestling period. At one point the group was in danger of becoming stale as they continued to protect Roman Reign’s historic title reign, but the insertion of Sami Zayn and Solo Sikoa breathed new life and longevity into the group.

The Bloodline surpasses conventional wrestling storytelling and has crossed over into the type of long-term storytelling you see in serialized television, with several twists and turns on the journey. Every character is well-defined with clear motives and goals, making it a nail-biting affair each time they’re on-screen. Even though the group’s time is clearly winding down, they have consistently been the best thing on WWE television for months.

Jey Uso left The Bloodline in 2023 as did Sami Zayn, and the group is down to four members. The Tribal Chief is still the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion and he is enjoying a record-breaking run with the championship. Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa continue to be supporting acts for Reigns, and the brothers have been teaming up to fend off the likes of Randy Orton, LA Knight, and John Cena.
