Along with these corporate measures, Endesa workers are joining the enormous wave of solidarity deployed from all over the country. All this help is being channeled through the area of Corporate Volunteering of the Endesa Foundation contributing capacity, time and resources.
Thus, this Wednesday a special initiative will be coordinated at the company’s headquarters in Madrid, Barcelona, Seville and Zaragoza where volunteer employees will participate in the preparation of 1,500 backpacks with personal protective equipment (PPE).
Each backpack contains essential items for cleanliness and safety, such as gloves, FFP2 masks, hydroalcoholic gel, protective glasses and wellies, facilitating protection during recovery work. Additionally, Endesa employees in Valencia participated last week for two days in the cleaning and conditioning work of the Escola Gavina educational center in Picanya (Valencia), one of the most affected by the recent floods.
Donation of PPE
The Endesa Foundation plans to continue with this type of actions in other affected centers. Likewise, PPE worth 5,000 euros has already been donated from the old As Pontes power plant.
“We are absolutely dismayed by the effects of DANA and we want to express our regret and maximum solidarity with the victims, their families and all the people affected. We know that the devastating impact of this storm will last for a long time and that therefore help is and will continue to be very necessary. At Endesa we do not forget the thousands of affected families and the volunteers from all corners of the country who are on the ground, including ours. They are all a great example of social commitment,” said the CEO of Endesa, Jose Bogas.
