Andorra la VellaThe government intends to speed up business procedures in the run-up to 2025. The Minister of Economy, Conxita Marsol, has acknowledged that “we have cumbersome procedures”, but has also announced that her ministry is working on them. In this sense, Marsol has communicated that the intention is to “simplify commercial authorizations” in order to reach “a single authorization”. We are working with the communes to be able to do this and find a solution because “we ask the CASS for the same information and then you go to the commune and they give it to you again”. This would benefit companies both for “their day-to-day life here and also for internationalization”. This is what the minister mentioned at the 1st International Andorra Business Conference, an event that seeks to help Andorran companies to optimize the arrival of their businesses in foreign markets.
Marsol explained that in more general businesses, such as a clothing store or a shoe store, the single procedure can be applied. “We must achieve a simplification, that with a simple document a company undertakes to comply and comply with the legislation and from there they can open and then the administration will carry out the checks afterwards and if it does not comply it will have to assume the their responsibilities,” said Marsol.
From Andorra Business they value the measure positively, since “we cannot deny that it would be a great milestone”, mentioned the director of Andorra Business, Judit Hidalgo.
The head of the Ministry of Economy has explained that this 1st International Conference to advise companies to enter the foreign market is important to accompany and advise Andorran entrepreneurs on how they can internationalize their businesses in the global market. “Any company, if they set their mind to it, can internationalize because they can take out their market niche,” commented Marsol, who added that with the partnership agreement “it should allow companies to have more possibilities”. And he has exemplified this with what the Andorran Family Business argued last week, when they explained that they saw opportunities with the agreement. Marsol has also indicated that the Government will “use all means to help companies in this globalized world”. For this reason, he has insisted that companies will be informed about the possibilities of going outside, as he is aware that some associations such as the CEA and the EFA see “opportunities with the association agreement”, he commented. In addition, he reported that he had noticed that many entrepreneurs had registered for this event. In fact, during the session, meetings will be held with more than 25 companies to address this issue.
In the last two years, Andorra Business and Action have helped 37 Andorran companies make the leap into foreign markets. “Sometimes as a country we don’t believe in the ability of our companies to go abroad”, declared the director of Andorra Business, Judit Hidalgo. Although most of the country’s companies are micro-enterprises, Hidalgo has stated that this is indifferent, as this is not what counts. Andorra Business has services to be able to make the leap abroad and has now opened the ‘Èxit’ program to “prepare to be able to go abroad” because many entrepreneurs do not know how to make the leap to other countries, said Hidalgo .
The head of the institution explained that the partnership agreement will benefit Andorran companies in terms of technical approvals. “This is a before and an after, we have Andorran companies that cannot easily approve their products”, said Hidalgo. According to the director, the agreement with Europe would “smooth the ground with technical approvals”, especially in the cosmetics, biomedicine and food sectors, she explained.
On the other hand, the minister also explained that the executive intends to organize an economic mission again, like the one they carried out last year in Portugal. In this case, it would be held in Canada for them to build contacts and get to know the market there.
