He Barcelona City Councilthrough the Eixample district and Foment de Ciutat, has launched the plan to energize the economic and social life of Diagonalbetween Verdaguer and Plaza de las Glòries, to revitalize the road after the urbanization works and the launch of the tram to Verdaguer. From November 30on weekends and in view of the Christmas holidays, they have scheduled a series of activities for all audiences.
Specifically, in the Bruc-Girona section, which has been temporarily set up as a living space with benches and planters, activities have been organized for the coming weeks, such as a handmade minigolf circuit, a maze, sustainable bumper cars, a bicycle skill gymkhana, among others.

Christmas activities
The surrounding commercial and community entities have also been involved in the revitalization of this space on Diagonal and have programmed, among others, a Christmas concert from the neighborhood schools, on December 12; the Christmas gift fair on December 14 with wines, jewelry, children’s, Christmas decorations or the Christmas fair of crafts, culture and games on December 21 and 22.
In addition, on the renovated section of Diagonal Avenue and Castillejos Street, there will be activities artistic, workshops, free play spaces and animation between December 25 and January 4.
Likewise, within the framework of this revitalization plan, the avenue will have christmas lighting between Bruc street and Plaza de las Glòries. They are approximately 4 kilometers counting that there will be decorations on both sides.
Budget of 240,000 euros
As The council already explained in Junethe plan for the economic and social revitalization of Diagonal between Verdaguer and Plaça de las Glòries has a planned endowment of 240,000 euros and will be developed between 2024 and 2026.
The plan aims to energize the new Diagonal with two large differentiated areas: the section that goes from Verdaguer to Marina, and the one that goes from Marina to Glòries. The programming of activities is the first of the three planned lines of action. The second is support for trade and existing economic activity, and the third will be activation in a future of empty ground floors.
