The Association for the Defense of the Brand (Andema) celebrates on November 21 and 22 in Barcelona the second edition of the European Industrial Property Forum. More than 200 national and international experts will gather at the event, which will have the support of the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office OA (OEPM).
The objective of this second edition is strengthen the event as a meeting point to analyze all aspects related to the situation of industrial property in Europe. After the success of last year’s forum, we will once again have the perspective of professionals involved in the protection and defense of industrial property rights.
During the two days that the event will last round tables and various debates are planned. Topics will be discussed such as brand identity, the challenges posed by artificial intelligencethe fight against counterfeiting, the proposed regulation of product packaging or coordinated actions between public administrations at the European level for the protection of industrial property.
This second edition will be held at the Hotel Casa Fuster. Gerard Guiu, general director of Andema, has stated who want to consolidate “the role of Spain in the contribution it makes to industrial property at the European level” and create “a space for open dialogue and to encourage collaboration.” “We believe that cooperation is the key to continue promoting and protecting industrial property rights effectively and creating a state of opinion favorable to protection of those rights; fundamental to achieving a society and an economy with a future,” he stated.
The president of Andema, Rosa Tous, and a representative of the Generalitat of Catalonia will inaugurate the forum. It is planned that The closing ceremony will be carried out by Jordi HereuMinister of Industry and Tourism, and João Negrão, executive director of the EUPO.
The meeting will feature the participation of representatives of institutions such as the European Commission or the Barcelona City Council, international associations such as INTA (International Trademark Association), the AIM (European Brands Association) or UNIFAB (Union des Fabricants). Companies such as TOUS, INDRA, HP, Cisco, OpSec Security, Ecoalf, Panasonic, Osborne or Altadis and security forces and bodies such as Europol, the National Police, the Civil Guard, the Mossos d’Esquadra, the Municipal Police of Madrid will also intervene. or the Barcelona Urban Guard.
Apart from the institutional and work agenda, the forum offers a program of leisure activities. Attendees will be able to visit the Gran Teatre del Liceu or the Barcelona Football Club Museum.
