Andorra la VellaThe Andorran Police arrested this Tuesday evening a 35-year-old woman, a former resident of the country, as the alleged author of a crime against security in legal trafficking for identity theft. The arrest took place in Andorra la Vella after a man recognized the arrested woman on the street as the person who had defrauded him in 2021.
When officers asked her to identify herself, the woman presented a false identity. When the relevant checks were carried out, it was found that he had registered at the hotel where he was staying with another person’s ID. In addition, he was found in possession of documents and credit cards that did not belong to him.
The detainee, who had been wanted for three years for a pending court case linked to several allegations of identity theft and false documentation, had left Andorra after the allegations at the time. In addition, the woman had pending arrest warrants for fraud in Catalonia and Aragon, and had a history of similar crimes.
