The Trinity hacker group claims to have been able to access the database of the Tax Agency (AEAT) and has threatened to publish up to 560 GB of data on December 31 if they do not receive the 38 million dollars that they have demanded in order not to publish the data.
As detailed on the HackManac site, the group has published an image of this threat that is only visible from the dark web. Despite this, there is no no more data nor have they published any information about the content of that data or about which people could be affected.
For its part, the Agency has assured that it is “assessing the situation” and that, so far, they have not identified any problems. “The situation remains under surveillance,” the organization added to several media outlets.
