Andorra la Vella‘A Daydreaming Mom in Andorra’, a comedy written and adapted by Renata Elis, arrives at the Andorra la Vella congress center on Thursday 21 November at 8pm. The screenplay was awarded in London as the best original screenplay, at the Hollywood International Diversity Film Festival in 2022 and was a finalist at the Cannes festival this 2024. The story is about a family that has just arrived in country and the social, linguistic and cultural difficulties in which they find themselves. The protagonist of the story, through various dreams, creates an imaginary juggling act to achieve everything: take care of her children, grow her business and adapt to the new life in Andorra. It is a multilingual work: Catalan, Spanish and English.
The team is made up of professional members and ‘amateurs’ from both the country and abroad. In fact, with this work we want to “highlight the community work and inclusion of the different nationalities that participate”. The director of the show, Renata Elis, sees the theater as a means of socializing the residents with these new families who are already part of our country. It is a work mostly in English, but there are also interventions in Catalan and Spanish. However, the entire piece will be subtitled in Catalan to facilitate understanding.
The cast includes Susanne Georgi, Jaume Montané Varias, Cristina Pericas, Carol Caubet, Francesca Aaen, Abril Salvadó, Elia Taulats, Annemarie Glynn, Molly Puigcercós Georgi, James Ford, Teo González Fabra, Roc MG, Lucas VáclavÃnek and Sienna Rose Glynn.
‘A Daydreaming Mom in Andorra’ is promoted by the Associació Producció Teatral d’Andorra, APTA Productions, and Stars Studios Andorra and has the collaboration of Montse Cobo and Raquel Lopez Palau.
