The founder of Meliá Hotels International, Gabriel Escarrer Juliá, has died this Tuesday, November 26 at 89 years of age, as company sources have confirmed to Europa Press.

The founder of Meliá, one of the largest hotel companies in the world, In June 2023, he left his presidential position at the head of a company that he ran for almost 70 years after being recognized as one of the drivers of the internationalization of Spanish companies in the world.
