The Barakaldo City Council opened this Thursday its tenth covered playground in Retuertowith 270 square meters and a board game area. The work has involved an investment of 384,294 euros. As reported in a statement by the Consistory, this new space, located in the Liozaga area, thus joins nine other facilities located in the central area, San Vicente, Lutxana, Desertu Berria and Cruces.
The area has been completely renovated. A new polycarbonate cover has been installed which is supported by a wooden structure and protects 285.30 square meters of land from rain. Of these, 171 square meters are actually swings and a play area and the rest is free space and benches to rest. Additionally, outside the deck, a new gaming space has been created with tables and ping pong tables.
Swings and slides for all ages
The structure is curved and is different to how many have been created to date in the city. It is created with laminated wood, very resistant. In order to respect the adjacent buildings and ensure that the homes located on the ground and first floors do not lose light and vision, the roof has been oriented so that the lowest side is located in the area where the homes are closest.
The interior space is completely open, leaving the central space of the children’s play area completely free. Cradle seat swings (1-3 years), a flat seat and a fully accessible basket for boys and girls with reduced mobility (3-14 years) have been installed. There is also a seesaw (2-6 years), towers with slides (1-6 years), a little house with a tunnel and panels (2-6 years), a set of play panels (2-6 years), semi-spheres and games that They will be created with the park’s own pavement.
In the outdoor play area, they have been installed two tables with four concrete seats. In one of them the chess board has been drawn and in the other The Goose. These tables are located next to two ping pong tables and a TeqBall table.
