“Valencia CF deeply regrets the death of José Castillejo, victim of the DANA disasters. José Castillejo was part of the Valencia Academy until the youth stage and has played for several teams in the Valencian Community,” the ‘che’ team said in a statement.
Likewise, Eldense regretted the “terrible news”. “CD Eldense deeply regrets the death at the age of 28 of José Castillejo, former Barça player in the 2015/2016 season. We convey our deepest condolences to his family and friends. May he rest in peace,” he noted.
The midfielder had been without a team since 2020, after having been in different Valencian teams: Paterna, CD Buñol, Recambios Colón, CD Roda, Torre Levante and Vilamarxant.
