The Game Awards, the most prestigious awards in the video game industry that this year celebrate their tenth anniversary, announced this Monday the nominees for all their categories, including the Video Game of the Year (for its acronym in English, GOTY), the most anticipated award and for which, among others, AstroBot and Final Fantasy VII: Rebirththe two titles with the most nominations in 2024.
This year, as announced, expansions and remasters are also eligible for GOTYand it has been the DLC Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree the one that has slipped into this category thanks to this decision, so this adventure could opt for the same award that it already won for the second time Elden Ring in 2022.
We will have to wait for the December 12 gala to find out who takes this honor, although in Spain it can be seen in the early hours of December 13.
In this edition, the big favorites are AstroBot and Final Fantasy VII: Rebirthwith seven nominations each; followed by Metaphor: ReFantazio (six); Balatro and Silent Hill 2 (five); and Black Myth: Wukong, Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, helldivers 2 and Hellblade 2 (four).
In addition, there is a great Spanish presence in these Game Awards, since there are three nominations for the indie game Snowby Nomada Studio, creators of the award-winning Grey; and also for him streamer IlloJuanwho is competing for the title of Content Creator of the Year as they already did Ibai Llanos and TheGrefg in 2021, although they did not win it.
