The first political reactions to the tragedy have not been long in coming, with statements of dismay. The president of Aragon, Jorge Azcon, He has been “shocked” by the “tragic” fire in the nursing home of Villafranca de Ebro, located in the province of Zaragoza, andn in which ten people have lost their lives.
“Shocked by the tragic fire in the Villafranca de Ebro nursing home that has cost the lives of ten people,” the Aragonese president expressed in a message on the social network X, minutes before arriving at the residence where the fire occurred.
Azcon has announced the suspension of the entire agenda “as a sign of mourning” and has sent his “deepest condolences” to the families of the deceased.
Ten people have died and two others were seriously injured in the early hours of this Friday in the fire at the Jardines de Villafranca psycho-geriatric residence, according to sources from the Government of Aragon.
Sánchez, “dismayed”
On social networks, the President of the Government, Pedro Sanchezhas also regretted the tragedy that occurred in the Zaragoza town.

The Government delegate in Aragon, Fernando Beltrán, has deeply regretted the death of ten people in the fire and has assured that he is attentive to the investigation into the origin of the fire.
