Andorra la VellaContinuing with the impetus, dissemination and promotion of Andorran literature abroad and, also to energize the work that is done from Carlemany Center of Praguethe Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports has participated in the presentation of the translation of the novel ‘Prussian blue‘ ofAlbert Villaró (Carlemany Award 2006), ‘Pruská modr‘ in its version in Czech. one editing which has been in charge of theeditorial of the Czech Republic ‘Acropolis‘ and in which the Government has collaborated.
“We are experiencing a moment of effervescence in terms of literary creation and publishing activity at home and, from the Government of Andorra, we have been deploying support and promotion actions abroad. However, Andorran literature has a universal vocation and aspires to connect with readers from everywhere That is why it is so important and we value every translation of one of our works into another language. In this case, there are also the bonds of friendship (such as the Charlemagne Center in Prague) which make a Czech translation doubly valuable”, he assured Monica Bonell.
On the other hand, Albert Villaró has grateful the task of ministry by support to the cultural production of Andorra“what is so rich and so diverseand to have more and more external projection. i am convinced that this investment is, in the long run, the most profitable of all”. In this sense, Villaró has highlighted the task which is done from Carlemany Center of Government a Prague for the diffusion of the culture and the official language. “Very especially, in theAndreu Bauçàwho has been acting as an ambassador for the language for so long and has managed to make such a good seed. We must all recognize him, for his constancy, for his vocation and for his great results”, he said.
The translation of book has been in charge of the Czech Michal Brabecwhich does ten years who collaborates with the Carlemany Center of Government a Prague imparting classes about the history of the Principality. Brabec has highlighted, during the presentationthat the translation of ‘Prussian blue‘ “in addition to being another step forward to make it even more present literature written in Catalan to mine countryis also a good way to present Andorra to the Czechs before he can do so through the Andorran history book.”
Twenty graduates in Catalan a Prague
Before the presentation of bookthe head of Culture, Monica Bonellha delivered the diplomas of Catalan language to the twenty students that they go overcome the proof to the May call of Prague. theactwhich took place in New Town Hall of Praguehas also had the presence of Joan Sans, director of the Linguistic Policy Department.
The Carlemany Center it currently offers nine courses (three levels of language, grammar, spelling, conversation, literature, translation…) and has two hundred students enrolled per academic year. All subjects are official and therefore carry university credit. A wide range of cultural activities promoting the Principality is also organized.
