Andorra la Vella“I don’t have the profile to be Head of Government and I don’t aspire to be Head of Government”. This is how forceful the Encamp consul has been Laura Mas on the possibility of heading the Democratic list in the next general elections of 2027. He has even pointed out that his ‘no’ is resounding.
Encampada policy has stated that “I don’t think they’ll ask me either because there are much better candidates than me” to lead the DA candidacy. But he emphasized that “I love politics and when my term ends I will continue to be involved in it and I have been doing it since I was eighteen years old. But I don’t have the profile to aspire to be Head of Government”. The statements correspond to an interview on the program Today will be a good day for Rádio Nacional directed by Gabriel Fernández.
Be proactive with the deal
Laura Mas has emphasized the fact that she is in favor of the association agreement with the European Union. He regretted that the affair is being poeticized. “If you’re a democrat it seems you have to vote in favor and if you’re not a democrat you have to do it against”. He does not like this scenario because “it is not a party or government issue, but the future of the country”. And he recalled that the only politician who has expressed himself totally against it is Carine Montaner.
The consul has explained that whenever she can she presents the arguments in favor of ‘yes’ and the need to guarantee Andorra’s future with a framework agreement with the European Union. But he pointed out that Andorra is ready to assume a future with an association agreement and, instead, it is “very worried” for what can happen if there is no agreement “such a small and dependent country”.
