With regard to intermonthly variations, the general index corresponding to October experiences a positive variation of 0.3%, bearing in mind that this is the original data and does not discount seasonal factors or calendar effects.
As for the sales index of large stores at constant prices, that is to say, once the effect of prices is removed, in October it falls by 5% compared to October of the previous year. Regarding the index of the food category, it has a negative variation of 4.3%, and the index relative to the rest of the products decreases by 7.1% compared to the same period of the previous year . Thus, the magnitude of the indices with respect to the measurement at current prices decreases due to the negative effect of prices.
On the other hand, the employment index of large retail areas grew by 0.3% in October compared to the same month of the previous year, and decreased by 0.4% compared to the one recorded in September of this year. Regarding the volume of women and men employed in the large commercial areas in October 2024, 62.7% correspond to the female gender and the remaining 37.3% to the male gender, a distribution that shows great stability during the last twelve months
The working day of the employed staff is distributed between 90.3%, who have a full-time working day, and the remaining 9.7% of the employed, who enjoy a part-time working day.
