Andorra la Vellathe last Observatory ofAndorra Research + Innovation reveals that the association agreement with the European Union causes different opinions among the Andorran and non-Andorran population. The results show a decline in the percentage of people who consider the deal to be “rather beneficial” in key aspects, but also in the percentage of those who see it as “rather harmful”, with some notable exceptions.
The areas that generate the most concern are migration policy and sustainable urban growth, where respectively 56.5% and 43.7% of respondents consider that the agreement will have rather negative effects. Misgivings are also growing in areas such as economic diversification and social rights, with an increase in those predicting harmful effects.
Nevertheless, in areas such as international relations (66.8% rather beneficial) and the treatment of Andorran nationals abroad (63.5%), the positive perception continues to predominate. The opportunities for young people are also favorably assessed (56.3%), one of the aspects with the best assessments.
In general, there is a significant increase in respondents choosing neutral or not defined answers, which reflects a climate of uncertainty. The option “neither beneficial nor harmful” or the lack of response represent important percentages in almost all the areas analyzed.
