Wolves host Leeds United this weekend in the Premier League with the chance of making more daylight to the bottom three with a win.
Leeds find themselves in the thick of a huge battle to stay in the Premier League this season, with nine teams currently involved in the fight to stay up.
Their battle to stay in the league continues with arguably their most important game yet as they travel to Molineux to face Wolves.
A win could put Leeds up to 14th and one point behind their rivals, while a defeat to Julen Lopetegui’s side would be a hammer blow.
Here, we look at two key Wolves threats that Leeds have to shut down this afternoon…
Most people who look at Wolves’ starting lineup every week have the same worry when they think about their most dangerous players, and it’s Adama Traore.
There has to be some caution paid to the likes of Daniel Podence and Pedro Neto, but Traore even on a bad day is so difficult to deal with.
Everyone knows what he brings to the table and while it’s only yielded two goals and one assist this season, he’s someone Leeds need to stop from getting any joy.
Junior Firpo is the man who will be tasked with marking him, and stopping him breaking in transition will be his biggest test for some time.
Wolves v Leeds predictions?
The Portuguese duo
In terms of supply, the bulk of Wolves’ quality is concentrated in their midfield, with Portuguese duo Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho pulling the strings alongside January arrival Mario Lemina.
Again, everyone knows what these two can offer in possession, able to spread the play with ease if given the time and space to dictate.
Leeds have done well in the league this season to stop these sorts of players from having joy, especially on the opening day when we beat Wolves at home.
Moutinho’s more advanced role at the moment is something we’ve rarely seen from him, but despite being 36, he still has more than enough quality to hurt Leeds when playing off Raul Jimenez.
