Metrovalencia is back in operation. After the disaster caused by DANA, the suburban train of the city of Turia will resume its service starting next Tuesday, December 3. This was announced this Friday by the Minister of Environment, Infrastructure and Territory, Vicente MartÃnez Mus, during a press conference to report on the status of the reconstruction works on the transportation network held the same day that marks one month since the catastrophe.
During this week, tests have been carried out on the Valencian metro network to be able to recover the service “safely”, once the construction of the new command post in the Machado workshops has been completed. In this sense, MartÃnez Mus has highlighted the work carried out by Ferrocarrils de la Generaliat Valenciana (FGV) “in record time.” “Us We set the goal of one month and we have met it in spades,” asserts the head of Infrastructure.
In this way, from the first hour of next Tuesday, December 3, they will enter fully in service lines 3 (Aeroport-Rafelbunyol), 5 (Aeroport-MarÃtim) and 9 (Aeroport-Alboraia Peris Aragó), while the rest -1, 2 and 7- will do so partially: line 1 will circulate between Bétera and Plaça Espanya, 2 between Paterna and Plaça Espanya and 7 between MarÃtim and Sant Isidre.
As for the line 2the councilor has specified that the service between Paterna and LlÃria will take “a few more days” to come into operation due to adaptation work that is being carried out at the Fuente del Jarro stop and that is not yet finished, although he has guaranteed that it will be completed “before Christmas.”
In any case, the metro service will be “adapted to the circumstances”, it will be similar to that on Saturdays, and for the moment night service will not be provided and restrictions on scooters and bicycles will remain. “I don’t think users will end up noticing it much,” MartÃnez Mus concluded.
