The Minister of Social Inclusion and Equality, Loles López, reported this Friday that the mother of the two-year-old boy murdered this Thursday by her partner in Linares (Jaén), in what has already been confirmed as a new case of vicarious violence, was a user of the Andalusian Women’s Institute (IAM) “for years”, although she later renounced its services.
In statements to journalists in Seville, the head of Equality of the Junta de Andalucía detailed that this woman sand last approached those services in 2022 and they offered her resources from the IAM, although her interest was more in obtaining financial aid, so she was referred to community social services.
“We offered him the resources that the Andalusian Women’s Institute has; he did not want any resources, I had another interest, it was more economicwith which it was referred to social services for subsidies or aid,” López indicated.
The Government Delegation against Gender Violence reported this Friday that there were no previous complaints for mistreatment against the alleged aggressor, who was arrested this Thursday and from whom a statement has not yet been taken because “they want to collect all possible data.”
Meantime, the twin brother of the murdered boywho also received a brutal beating by the arrested man, is currently admitted to the hospital in serious condition, although he is “progressing favorably”, as confirmed by the Government delegate in Andalusia, Pedro Fernández. With the murder of the little boy, they are already nine children who have lost their lives in 2024 at the hands of their mothers’ partners or ex-partners.
