Andorra la VellaThe general trustee, Carles Ensenyat, has decorated, this Thursday at noon, with the Cross of Seven Arms to the former general trustee Jordi Farràs Forné who held the position during the so-called Constituent Council from April 1992 to December of 1993. The event took place in the Passos Perduts room of Casa de la Vall in the presence of the general trustees, the presidents of the parliamentary groups, the chief of Government, members of the Council of the Cross of the Seven Arms, representatives of other institutions and relatives of the honored.
Farràs was general councilor from 1986 to 1993. In particular, he was elected by the parish of Andorra la Vella, in the elections of December 1985, he repeated the position from 1990 to 1992 which ends with the self-dissolution of the General Council, and he is again elected general councilor in April 1992.
On April 22 of that year, he was elected general trustee with the favorable vote of the 28 general councilors present. He held the position of general trustee throughout the constituent legislature that ends in December 1993, after having approved the Constitution of the Principality of Andorra unanimously in the General Council and subsequently being ratified by the Andorran people in a referendum. His name will remain forever inscribed in the original copies of the Constitution.
During the award speech, the award-winning ex-syndic alluded to the regulation of abortion. Such as collected by RTVAhas been conclusive stating that “there is no way to get the episcopal co-prince, who represents first and foremost the Catholic Church, to validate the fact that abortion can be done in Andorra”.
